It’s not great pizza, but it’s cheap an d the best pizza is the pizza that’s in front of you...

That looks like 16 slices for regret.

I made the mistake of getting some Dominos recently. Great that they’ll sell you a 1-topping large pizza for $8 or whatever, but I really don’t need a pizza that is caked in cornmeal. Their Brooklyn-style pizza was the worst, nothing like an actual NY style pizza besides being thin-crust, and because of that cornmeal, basically like eating sandpaper.
I hope your regained eating ability lets you eat some better things...

As a fan of quantity over q uality, I approve.

Well, I have a favorite pizza joint, but since I’ve been under anesthesia today I’m not allowed to drive so I had the co-worker that picked me up swing by Domino’s on the way home. Yeah, it’s one step above frozen, but it is cheap and available.

I understand you take what you can get.
I’ll also freely admit it could just be that my local Dominos does a crappy job making pizza, the corporate kitchen may do a better job.

IMHO there are fewer things better than a pepperoni domino’s pizza and an XL dr. pepper.

I learned something recently: my local Domino’s charges some kind of ridiculous delivery fee like $4. This is a high cost area so I guess rather than raising prices they just jack up the delivery fees to help their margins . Except doing that puts it in the price range of other, better pizza places with higher prices but lower delivery fees. Takeout’s still cheap though.

Yeah, I only do take out. What gets me is that the prices on their website or app are considerably higher than what they quote you if you just give them a call. I did get an email for a special (2 large two topping for $5.99 each) and just went with that; I usually pay $10-11 for one, which is better than the $18 that their website says, so this a was a pretty good deal, all things considered.

Ours is $3 and that’s in one of the lowest-tax, reasonably priced places in the US. They instituted this when gas was $4 a gallon, but never got rid of it.

Domino’s (the new recipe, since about 3-4 years ago) is still the best national takeout/delivery chain there is. 10-15 years ago, Papa John’s probably had that title.
Pizza Hut and Little Caesars are for times of drunkenness or desperation only, but I repeat myself.
I love local stuff, but it’s usually twice the price and the quality control is all over the board, especially if you’re not eating it right in the moment
. So we tend to go right back to Domino’s...and the kids like it.

Over the last few years all the pizza places near me have done that. Really annoying

Ham and pepperoni thin crust dominos is some of the best pizza I have consumed

Considering that the price is about the same as Little Caesars it's a hell of a bargain. It's not too bad, whereas LC is still bottom of the barrel. I still prefer a local specialty joint or my favorite expensive $10 frozen, but this works for today.

I want to say back when I was still eating dairy (which has been a couple years since that happened) the delivery fee at the Domino’s in Madison was maybe a buck or two. But it’s entirely possible it’s higher now. I just assumed the $4 here was because this is a higher cost area

OK, you, and Grubhub’s coupon have now inspired me to get pizza (not Dominos, but from a local place across the street from Dominos). It was good, though different from what they normally serve, usually it’s a sort of greasy pseudo New York style pan pizza, but today the dough was a bit puffier, making it more like what you’d get from Papa John’s, though better. Wonder if that’s a permanent change or if they just got distracted and let some dough rise longer?

When I was in NYC for a holiday, one of the first meals that I h ad (if you can call it a ‘meal’) was a Little Ceasers pizza. It was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Like, the worst. Really. The worst.
It was so bad that I figured, well, the rest of the trip can only get better, right? Even getting mugged in NYC seemed like a better experience than putting another slice of that garbage in my mouth and acting like its proper food.
